The Rotary Club of of Pasig Service
At present, one of the most significant projects of the Club is the Luxid Rotary Micro-Finance and Credit Cooperative. This is in partnership with the Luxid Foundation, Inc. and the Rafael Garcia III Foundation, where the former will operate micro-finance and credit cooperative while the latter will provide a 3-storey building on its property in Sitio Caliwag, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan and a polyclinic inside the building.
At the Ilugin Community Center school complex, in cooperation with The Medical City Medical Center, the club operates a pediatric clinic with regular feeding programs and other children health and welfare programs. Regular gynecological, dental and other services have more recently been added. In 2019, a portable ultrasound machine was purchased through a Global Grant to provide care to the pregnant mothers in surrounding community.
Prominent among the club's continuing contributions to the community are the scholarships, especially at the Rizal High School which started in the 1980s. The scholarship is intended to provided the students with a modest monthly stipend for the students' school and other necessary expenses. These grants were made to maintain awardees throughout four years of High School provided they maintained certain performance requirements. At present, the club is thus supporting about sixty to seventy young boys and girls through high school every year. In the recent years, the club has also given scholarships to college students at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig.
"Tubig ng Buhay" - dirty water turned into potable drinking water using the SkyHydrant filtration system. Spearheaded by PRID Raffy Garcia and son PP Ramy Garcia, the Rotary Club of Pasig in partnership with Disaster Aide Australia and Balay Mindanaw, provide much needed drinking water in area badly damage by typhoon Ulysees, like Montalban and Rodriguez in Rizal, Legaspi and Albay and Tuguegarao, Cagayan.
In partnership with Gawad Kalinga, we programmed to build 150 housing units in Sitio Caliwag, Pinagbuhatan, Pasig, in which 88 housing units have been completed. This provide a decent and respectable living and at the same time promote peace in the environment.
The Rotary Club of Pasig is one of the largest Rotary Clubs in District 3800 and is the mother club of the Pasig zone.
Founded in 1971, after nearly five decades, the Rotary Club of Pasig has made a difference. In all this, an important foundation has been laid with solidity, and that is the organized friendship forged among businessmen and professionals who have become members of Rotary. From this, much benefit will hopefully continue to accrue to the community in years to come.Founded in 1971, the Rotary Club of Pasig has been making a difference in Pasig, with many major community service programs.
Rotary District 3800 held it's first ever Virtual District Conference, Transforming District Governor Tonipi Parungao giving the State of the District Address.
